About A. Billi Free
A. Billi Free is a Midwest-bred, Southwest-based vocalist,lyricist, DJ and beat producer. Her sound is rooted in an eclectic blend of hip-hop, soul and electronica. Free began her performance career in Chicago providing vocals for various hip-hop and world music outfits but has spent the last decade in the desert fusing elements of both the city and the border into her sound. In 2018 she released the album "CNJR" (pronounced "conjure") as one half of the hip-hop/soul duo BLK MGC (pronounced "black magic") as well as her debut solo beat EP/film score "Room of Surfaces" on the ETC Records label. She has featured on releases from Intell (son of Wu-Tang's U-God), FatherSha (son of Wu-Tang's Method Man), Tensei with Tokyo Dawn Records, Def-i and Emmy award winning rapper, Jabee. Her latest album, I LUMA, was released summer 2019 via Tokyo Dawn Records.

Billi Free has opened for KRS1, Jacob Banks, Black Milk & The Nat Turner Band, Xenia Rubinos, Wheelchair Sports Camp, The Marías, Luckyiam of the Living Legends, Itaweh and the Reggae Lions and Abstract Rude of The Freestyle Fellowship. Notable performances include: Neon Desert Music Festival (El Paso, TX), Chalk the Block (El Paso, TX), Burque Noir (Albuquerque, NM), Mural Fest ABQ, Dark Matter Coffee Block Party (Chicago, IL), Push Beats (Chicago, IL), The Rising (Las Cruces, NM/El Paso, TX), NewMexi.co's Sunset Sessions (Las Cruces, NM), Hozho Total Wellness Indigenous Yoga Day (Monument Valley, Utah), El Paso Museum of Art Transborder Biennial and the Tucson Hip Hop Festival. She is a vocalist for El Paso jazz/hip hop fusion band, Ribo Ruckus, and is Hip Hop Cultural Ambassador to Mongolia for 2020 on behalf of the US Dept of State and the Next Level program.
