Kevin Noon and the Sandford Soul Orchestra is a Scottish band based in Glasgow Scotland
evin was the founding member of eighties art pop band The Venetians and following well received live appearances at Edinburgh College of Art they released their first album Bohemian way on Occasional Records. Following the bands demise Kevin went onto form the Journeymen who were then signed by Lochshore Records in 1995. The band made three albums (North, Wanderlust and The Pilgrims Trail EP). They played the first two Celtic Connections festivals as well as festivals throughout Europe before splitting up in 1997. Kevin then went onto to record a solo album Coming in from the Storm in 1998 and has been involved in various musical projects since. Its welcome news that Kevin has been back in the studio with a new band recording the Album By the foot of the Mountain The band have been playing over the last year at various festivals and gigs throughout Scotland gaining a reputation as an enthralling live act. The music is described as Scottish folk driven Northern soul. Kevin Noon is a songwriter who has developed a growing reputation in Scotland and abroad, having a unique and distinctive voice with songs that captivate and engage. "Kevin sings with a pleasing rough edged passion" (Sue Wilson -Scotland on Sunday). Kaledon Naddair of The Celtic Music Review wrote "These are soulful Scottish songs that lift your spirits"
