About Dolbro Dan
LIVE STREAM - every Sunday 7:30PM
Belfast-born singer-songwriter Dolbro Dan first surfaced in 2008 with a self-produced album Singin' Homemade Music. His satirical musings and rustic alt-folk delivery caught the attention of local tastemakers Alternative Ulster praising his single ‘When Bob Was Still a Boy’.
Dan's follow-up was another locally lauded release. The Paranoid Protest Songs EP tackled technocratic concerns with songs like ‘Microchipping Me’ and ‘The Anticipation Is Killing Me’ which debuted in session on BBC Across the Line.
In 2012, when his rendition of Bob Dylan’s ‘Ballad of Hollis Brown’ received a modest 100,000 YouTube views, Dan was invited to join FSOL offshoot, Amorphous Androgynous, for a headline appearance at Finnish music festival, Ilmiö.
Dan continues to perform, record and release originals and covers. His latest full-length Folk Dope (2018), includes the song 'Own Up' - a haunting lament which harks back to Northern Ireland's troubled past.
