Pocket Candies

Pocket Candies is an Ann Arbor/Detroit band which began in 2013 as a composition & performance project conceived by Sam Naples and Summer Krinsky called "Caves". Originally, the project formed as an independent study idea to shape an immersive and inclusive live show experience in the Ann Arbor Nichols Arboretum. The imagined performance consisted of writing a six song EP, creating visuals to accompany each tune, and a custom set for 3D projection mapping. The realization of this performance featured multifaceted collaborations with musicians, lighting designers, programmers, animators, and film makers (see show here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkRU8VkM1eE). The process was so exciting, and the audience response was so overwhelmingly enthusiastic, that this project–once imagined as a single event–has evolved into a touring live band. Over the past year, Pocket Candies have played many shows throughout the southeastern Michigan circuit.
