About Bloody Gulch
Bloody Gulch is a four piece stoner metal band from Dixon, Il. The band is made up Chad Fassler (vocals), Ian Smith (guitars), Nick Trenholm (bass), and Evan Trenholm (drums). Since Bloody Gulchs’ inception, the band has released two full length albums along with three music videos, and has played countless live shows across the Illinois and Wisconsin area. Along with writing and performing their original material, the band is also responsible for all recording and production of their music.
Each member of the band cites several stylistic influences including bands like Kyuss, Black Sabbath, The Sword, Metallica, Sleep, Alice In Chains, and Pantera. The band feels like the wide range of influential styles adds to the originality of their own music and is a contributing factor to the uniqueness of their sound.
Much of the lyrical content found in BG’s music is focused on the supernatural and paranormal. The bands name, which is taken from Bloody Gulch Road in their hometown of Dixon, was the site of a gruesome and infamous murder in the late 1800’s. Since that time, there have been many reports of hauntings, ghost sightings, and other strange paranormal activity on the road. “Haunted Illinois” even lists Bloody Gulch Road as one of the ten most haunted places in the state.
Although Bloody Gulch remains an unsigned band, they are actively pursuing possible opportunities to work with a record label in hopes of reaching as many people as possible.
