About Byron Bank
Byron Jones (born July 15), better known by his stage name Byron Bank, is a charismatic, talented and direct artist hailing from Houston, Texas. Raised in the Southeast Houston neighborhood, Byron started rapping at the age of fifteen. As the only man in the household, Bank witnessed and used his mother’s struggle as a single parent as motivation. He learned to play the trumpet and drums in the high school band, with the encouragement of his grandmother who purchased his first keyboard workstation. This is when Byron found his true love in producing music.
Byron's music is a unique take on hip-hop, showing fans and other rappers that great tracks are all about bridging the divide between the old-school flow and the modern punch; pairing up the best of both worlds with his vision and his banging songs. His uncompromising work ethic would not allow him to rest on his more than impressive laurels; there needed to be a 'visual' movement to showcase his innovative style and unique persona. His words and rhymes hit hard, not unlike influential performers such as Jay Z, J Dilla, Lil B & Rakim or A Tribe Called Quest, among others.
2015, Byron released his most personal, thoughtful and creative album, “Change” on March 31st, expressing vividly his life through music. Byron later follows up in 2016 with a few singles, “She Knows” and “One Hunnit” followed by the mixtape “Byron Bank No S 2”, which is a sequel to a previous mixtape released back in 2011. Putting his new Houston flavor on the map, Byron takes his creativity, worldly views and perspectives to a new height in 2017 with the album “Current Situations”. In 2018, Byron releases the EP, "Metamorphosis" which is a continuation expressive album of his brand in his artistic element.
Bank has opened up for many other artists such as: Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana, Chris Brown, Devin the Dude, Just Brittany and more. He's also done work with community-based organizations such as: March of Dimes for the March of Babies, Houston's YMCA and Good Cause 4 Good People (GC4GP) located in Austin, Texas, as well as perform for over 20 major Houston’s Community Benefit events.
Byron Bank has now taken his career on to the next level and is currently signed to Breakin' Bank Records, an Independent Record Label based in Houston, Tx. To find out more, let his music tell you the rest of his story.
