About MZ HAYTCH
There are many ways someone could describe a DJ like Mz.Haytch. Talented, extraordinary, energetic, genius, passionate, friendly, hardcore, generous, dancer… all these descriptive words don’t do this Sydney based DJ/producer any justice… because Mz Haytch is the PARTY!
Born in Brisbane, music has always been a huge part of the life of Mz.Haytch. That passion and drive has never left this rising star of the Harder Styles. There is so much that has got her to this point… Lets break it down
Pre DJ Years:
Music was always going to be Mz.Haytch’s destiny, either as a dancer or musician. Her talents go beyond the decks, cutting her teeth as it were, with Rock Eisteddfords and beauty pageants, even performing solo in several Musicals.
The Spark that started the Fire:
Mz.Haytch moved to Sydney in 2005 and soon found her way as a dedicated raver in Sydney’s club circuit. Often you would find her cutting all sorts of shapes at iconic Sydney clubs like Sublime, Daydreams and Gas.
Something drew her into the Harder Styles and since then its been full steam ahead!
The Raver becomes the DJ:
2010 was a turning point for the DJ/producer we now know as Mz.Haytch. After years of smashing records in bedrooms and pre/after parties, someone noticed this Raver had some serious talent. She was asked to perform her first set at a club she had dreamed of playing at...Sublime. At this point she owned two Turntables, a handful of Raver baby vinyl and a love of UK Hardcore. On this day “Energizer Bunny” was born, playing at the same club were it all began.
In this period Mz.Haytch learned production skills and even started releasing original tracks and collaborating with well established producers, as well as supporting some of the biggest names in the business; Technikore (UK/Aus), Brisk (UK), JTS, Haze, Weaver, Suae, Pulsar and Ravine just to name a few.
In 2013 Energizer Bunny took on a new name, Jozzi and soon picked up residencies at the UK HARDCORE only event, OneSeventy, Bass Control and Hardcore Masif. Jozzi was best known for her energy behind the decks and her unique ability to bring out the inner raver in even the most critical of critics.
Jozzi had stamped her mark on the Sydney club scene and a bond between her and the people were now well established.
Along came a Harder Style:
2011 had seen the rise of a new style of music that would not only change the landscape of Sydney’s electronic music scene but also the path of what would later become MZ HAYTCH.
2012 saw the formation of two of Sydney’s leading ladies join forces to create “Kamikaze”. For Sydney and personally, this was a breakthrough time for Hardstyle. Not only did these two ladies pave the way for the female DJ in a male dominated scene but it also paved the way for Mz.Haytch internationally.
Kamikaze featured heavily behind the decks at Masif Saturdays, Bass Control Defqon.1 (Aus) and pretty much every Hard Dance event around.
The Hardstyle duo brought their style of the genre to the forefront in Sydney and were instrumental to its current success, and spread the good word as far as Bali, Jakarta, Malaysia and even Defqon.1 in the mother land of Hardstyle… Holland.
In 2015 Kamikaze parted as a duo, and our DJ could take her true form.
The Here, The Now, The Future:
2016 had seen this infamous DJ turn her sights on the Hardstyle sub genre… Reverse Bass.
Mz.Haytch now finds herself once again at the forefront of a genre that is exploding Music Appreciation Society nights at Australia’s biggest Hard Dance club, Masif.
Through her acclaimed performances she has proven herself as one of the most versatile in Sydney. She has been behind the decks at every RVRS BASS and HMAS Hardstyle DJ’s as her list of residencies interstate and club night features grow. Masif, RVRS BASS, HMAS, REHAB, DEFQON.1 and HARD ENVY just to name a few.
She will also be hitting the studio hard in 2017. After already releasing a few collabs with DJ Yev, Mz.Haytch will be releasing her first solo production in 2017 which will no doubt be the first of many.
Having already supported some of the best in international and Australian talent including DJ Isaac, Luna, Brennan Heart, Rebourne, MKN, Franceso Zeta, Cyber, Toneshifterz, Steve Hill, Suae, Pulsar, Technikal and Josh Lang, Mz.Haytch is primed to make 2017 the biggest year yet already racking up of notable list of act supported
OPEN YOUR MIND – The sound, the music, the dance:
Mz.Haytch’s time and experience behind the decks has enabled her to live by a unique but simple philosophy when it comes to her craft.
We can clearly tell from all the above, Mz.Haytch loves electronic music of the harder variety, with the prime objective connecting to the crowd and making them want to dance just as hard as she does. She wants the ravers to connect with the music on a level of more then just listening, but feeling and she wants people to experience new music and melodies.
Having already done more in her DJ career then most can dream of some might expect this power house to slow down… Don’t count on it… The DJ/Producer some simply call Joz is only getting started…
…In 2017, Mz Haytch is going open your mind… then blow it away!
