STRATIFY

Stratify is a 9pc. contemporary jazz band formed in 2012 by bassist and band leader Doc Robinson. The plan for building this band came together for Doc as he was preparing to retire from the military. However, the plan required bringing in the right musicians to make it work. As currently formed, Stratify has been the best version of itself with standout Bay Area musicians and a great family vibe, all of which have been the hallmark of Stratify. The band performs uptempo, funky groove instrumental, vocal and smooth jazz tunes. Our album "Smooth Your Mood, Funk Your Groove" featuring the songs "Change of Season", Switch (The Groove) and our cover of Greg Adams "Survival of the Hippest", has received great reviews! In addition to performing originals, we perform covers of contemporary jazz greats such as Najee, Grover Washington Jr., Pieces of a Dream, Rick Braun, Incognito, Eliane Elias, Sade and Brian Culbertson to name a few.
