Kauri

Kauri is a band with a raw, energetic and personal attitude based in Northwest Oklahoma. Kauri's sound blurs the lines between different genres, including alternative rock and folk - revealing a rather eclectic approach to songwriting and a broad musicianship across the board. Kauri's music is striking, for the band's themes often focus on dark and mildly occult musings as well as the sheer enigmatic force of nature itself, while simultaneously touching on the ambiguity of personal experience and memory. As a result, Kauri's sound is hauntingly beautiful, with sparse, primal drums and eerie atmospheric sampling. Currently working on a brand new release planned for February 2018, Kauri's songs highlight the band's fondness for great melodies, insightful lyrics and elegant production aesthetics, echoing the work of artists such as Half Moon Run, Fleet Foxes, Glass Animals or Alt J, just to mention a few.
