About Delavega
De La Vega is a Belgian pop group formed in 2003. The band members are JP De Brabander (guitar), David Van Belleghem (drums), Ben Van de Velde (bass) and Lize Accoe (vocals) who left the band early 2006. They released a mini-cd which contained their break-through hit single "Surely".
Following the highly praised debut single 'Surely', and the miniCD DELAVEGA (2004), Delavega came out with the (by public and press) much-appreciated album 'Falling Into Place', the Focus Trophy at the ZAMU Awards 2006 and a collection of fantastic concerts, DELAVEGA withdrew from the public eye during the winter 2006-2007 to write a very promising second album which will be released in mid-October.
The first single 'Little Clouds' (built around the deep soul of front-lady Elke Bruyneel) has already been playing on the radio over the last few months. The incorporation of Elke - a jeune première who likes to rub her voice up to those of vocal queens like Ella Fitzgerald, Beth Gibbons and Angie Stone - was a great move musically. With her arrival Delavega last year began a promising new chapter involving dub, noise, (nu) jazz, funk, soul and urgent rock as musical sources.
The new album THE DAY AFTER is out October 22nd, Delavega will be presenting their new album to the public NOVEMBER 14TH at Handelsbeurs, Gent and NOVEMBER 22ND at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.
