About Prez Harris
Prez Harris began his musical journey at the age of 8, when he started learning how to play the drums and writing poetry. In his freshman year of college he recognized his desire to be a solo artist.
Hailing from just west of Chicago, Harris attended Northwestern University where he studied Computer Engineering and Music Technology. His freshmen year, he created a student group called DOJO. DOJO, a music community with a deep love for Hip Hop, reintroduced music creation to Harris and he was inspired to begin MC’ing again.
Soon after, he released his debut mixtape, State of The Union. The ten-track project, centered around Harris’ life at the time, featured artists and producers such as Thaddeus Tukes, Adhana Reid, LexOfNP, Detrakz, Paul Cabbin, etc. The mixtape, primarily rooted in Hip Hop, showed some flashes of the versatility to come in Harris’ music. It contained standout tracks such as Let’s Make a Toast, Just Do Me, and Economics.
Soon after, Harris began doing shows non-stop throughout Illinois and Wisconsin opening up for major acts like, B.o.B., Jay Electronica, Little Simz, and CJ Fly. Along with local shows, he embarked on his Campaign College Tour performing at colleges throughout the Midwest.
Harris continued building his fanbase by giving electric and collaborative performances in cities like Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. In 2022, Harris released his long-awaited EP entitled HOURGLASS, for which he is set to go on tour for in 2023.
