About Poobah
Progressive/psychedelic heavy stoner rock trio (Youngstown, Ohio) formed in the early 1970s and still active today, especially live in the Cleveland-Youngstown region. Influences include Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, King's X, Blue Cheer, early Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin. Lineup centers on guitarist/frontman Jim Gustafson, with Woody Hupp handling bass since 1986. A number of drummers over the years, currently Steve Richards. Three studio albums in the 70s: Let Me In (1972), US Rock (1976), and Steamroller (1979), along with more recent recording activity in the late 1990s. Steamroller was remastered and re-released in April 2005 with five bonus tracks. Poobah plans to re-release the remaining back catalog and a new studio album in 2007.
