About Sokko

As trends rise and fall in the dance music industry, Sokko has solidified his sound through the use of pianos, steel drums, kalimbas, and other island-inspired instruments. Sokko’s tropical-infused dance music was born through his love for Caribbean and island songs at an early age. While music always intrigued Sokko, the young producer didn’t realize it would pilot his life until an unfortunate series of events. Filled with energy throughout his childhood, Sokko found his release within athletics. Several injuries during his adolescent years left him unable to unleash his energy on the playing field. In search of an outlet for his effervescence, Sokko first discovered his knack for music through guitar. The rest of the artist’s teen years were spent mastering the guitar, writing his own music, and diving into the art of recording. It wasn’t until Sokko’s first college party that he found the genre that would affect the rest of his musical career. Inspired by the uplifting feel of dance music, Sokko was determined to master a sound that would serve as a reflection of him as an artist. In the beginning stages of his production Sokko experimented with a wide variety of genres including electro/progressive house, deep house, melodic trap, and trance. Today, he has discovered his own unique style – a mix of tropical and energetic sounds with elevating melodies. In just over two years, Sokko’s productions have been supported by world-renowned artists such as The Chainsmokers, Gareth Emery, MAKJ, Dzeko & Torres, Henry Fong, and Mako. Dance music publications like Dancing Astronaut, Your EDM, The EDM Network, This Song Slaps, and Less Than 3 have praised the young producer for his distinct sound. He has scored official remixes for the likes of pop-soul singer, MAX's "Basement Party (feat. Tyler Carter)" and trance legend, Gareth Emery's "We Were Young (feat. Alex & Sierra)." Several of his remixes have aired on SiriusXM’s BPM, Club Life, and Electric Area stations, and he has achieved three #1’s on Hypem. Despite Sokko’s current accomplishments, the producer has just begun to scratch the surface in the dance music world. With his sights set on creating a globalized impact, Sokko shows no signs of slowing down. I stole your grandparents' solar shields. #SolarGang
