About Tamara KaboutcheK

After the release of her debut album “Full Moon Doll”, French-Chilean singer Tamara Kaboutchek presents us with her new achievement “Limited Attachment”, an EP of six elaborated songs. Being exposed to many different musical cultures and influences, open to urban sounds of her time, Tamara has effortlessly untie herself from her Folk Rock roots into a new feverish electronic laced genre. Being offered an Omnichord by her musician friend Johanna Cranitch from the “White Prism” band, she opened up to new sounds and her new songwriting technique was born. She shifted from her guitar roots, to a synth sound and began writing songs with more emphasis on beats and harmony. On this EP, Tamara sits comfortably besides the charisma of artists such as Kate Bush and Cat Power in songwriting, and demonstrates attraction for the electro-pop scene of Manchester : Joy Division, The Chameleons, New Order. "Limited Attachment" is pop music in 2013 at it’s best. Enlightened by pop figures, daring the whole synthetic, while assuming the darkness of a rock with saturated guitars, a palette of effects, riffs and sounds. Layers of synthesizer extend to a vast melancholic scenery, charcoal grey (ep cover), appealing and hypnotic. A daring new effort that dips and flies melodically with ease and passion. Tamara’s voice is revealed, strong and velvet, unforgiving when telling the stories in these songs. Heartbreaking and honest reminiscent of a Beth Gibbons (Portishead), sliding on every beat with a stunning grace, with a lyricism never bland. Tamara stays and this record is only the beginning of great things to come. Biography: Born in South Africa and raised in France, Tamara was always a curious, travel thirsty wanderer, writing her first songs inspired by an extended stay of two years, in an island in Greece. At the age of 20 years, Tamara began her career in Greece on the island of Cephalonia, at one of the most prestigious music schools in the country. She composed her first songs and became the singer of a local group, LMC-9 miles, with whom she was introduced to the stage by skimming the various bars and small local venues. Returning to Paris in 2007, she met Pierre Emery (Ultra Orange) with whom she recorded their first demos with a very rock-Velvet Underground touch, which opened the doors for a big record company to walk in and offer her a recording contract ( EMI-Virgin). Wishing to give a more folk and old-fashioned touch to her compositions, Tamara turned to the producer-arranger Noah Georgeson. From the neo-folk wave in California. Noah has worked among artists such as Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsome, and Little Joy. He was the perfect fit and Tamara embarked on a year In L.A working tirelessly at cultivating her sound for the first record “Full Moon Doll”. During the promotion of the album in 2010, she was invited in several French TV and radio shows large audiences (Taratata, France Inter, ...) After the release of her debut, Tamara found herself, once again back in Paris working with her friends and original Band members on new demos that would end up today, on her newest effort ‘Limited Attachment” . Martin Bleck produced and co-wrote several songs and their collaboration has brought Tamara into a new faze of her career which shows her in a more sophisticated, melodic light. Joined by drummer Charles Olsenn, bassist Hugo Lafitte and guitarist Nico Sasu. New EP "Limited Attachment" released on 3rd of June 2013 - First album "Full Moon Doll" (EMI-Virgin) 2010
