About Jordan Millar & The Question

Its no surprise to 24 year old Jordan Millar that he comes across as a confusing musician to describe. From playing Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival with backed by his jam band ‘The Question’ to going on solo acoustic tours with the likes of Cliff Richard, Delta Goodrem & Ian Moss, he’s not the easiest of artists to pigeonhole. But ask the man himself and you’ll find out he likes it this way, and after gaining fans from all across the musical spectrum he’s not about to change a thing. Growing up in Hobart, Tasmania, Jordan’s was born into a musical family. His father, a drummer, had a a record collection that filled closets and from a young age Jordan was given a diverse musical education. But It was always bands like Steely Dan and the greats of Motown Rhythm and Blues that grabbed his full attention and led him to play the drums and bass before he discovered his love for songwriting. After being handed the award for ‘Best Tasmanian Artist’ by Michael Chugg in 2007, 18 year old Jordan moved Sydney and has since been relentlessly touring Australia, independently releasing 3 EP’s and debut album ‘Lies In Translations’ (2009), gaining a loyal fan base and the respect of his peers along the way. He’s launched his debut single ‘Lost My Way’ on the Channel 7 Morning Show, he’s got a list of supports that include Cliff Richard, Colin Hay, Jordin Sparks, Hollie Smith, Mental As Anything, Brian McFadden, Tim Freedman, Katie Noonan, Ian Moss, Diesel, Delta Goodrem, Lisa Mitchell and many more, he’s won National Songwriting Awards for 4 individual songs across 3 different releases, and there’s no doubt he’s earned his chops as a do it yourself artist in the new musical landscape. As he prepares to release third and brand new ‘Everything EP’ in 2011, Jordan is more adamant that he is truly only now at honing his craft as a songwriter. ‘This is the most honest i’ve ever been on record, and this is what i needed to do right now. People used to come [to the shows] for the music, now its for the words...’ The ‘Everything EP’ is now available on iTunes.
