Santa Cruz Reggae All Stars

Santa Cruz Reggae All Stars is a group of varying members of bands and the jamming community that came together after regular jams at different establishments around town. Santa Cruz Reggae All Stars covers some Reggae favorites with a surf style modern reggae twist. The name is usually misunderstood, where the name might lead people to think it is standard reggae from a group in Santa Cruz, the name actually speaks more of Santa Cruz Reggae. A style of reggae that has grown in Santa Cruz since the days of Marley's visit, where he aptly referred to it as "Rasta Cruz". Santa Cruz Reggae incorporates influences of a wide genre of music as well as the surf roots culture of Santa Cruz, California. The SCRAS are geared towards paying tribute to the great reggae classics that influenced so much of the members lives growing up. The group aims to please the crowd with grooving riddims that pay tribute to the past while also celebrating a new style of music. Various members of Santa Cruz bands covering the classics and modern with some Santa Cruz flavor ;)
