Testimonials: ------------------ **It has been an honor to watch Optimus Grime grow as a dj over the last year. Before the first time I watched/heard him play his reputation was a buzz in the dj community. His unique style of mashups and fusing of different electronic music styles stood out from most DJS in the Calgary electronic music scene. Optimus was renowned for experimenting with the music he played and he was willing to try mixing anything to stand out from the crowd. The first time I had the pleasure to meet Optimus Grime it was when he was preforming on our newly founded radio station Phresh FM. Phresh FM had many technical issues at that time because of our lack of experience. Optimus was extremely professional and only offered words of encouragement while we suffered through system crashes and glitches. During his hour set Optimus Grime blended genres of electronic music that I as a dj did not think was possible. Not everything during his set flowed perfectly but it was original and fun. I could tell that Optimus had more potential then most of the other djs that I had heard during that time. I made a note to make sure that I would hear him again and see where his skills would lead him. About 7 months later I was lucky enough to catch his set at The Lord nelson Pub. Phresh FM was co-sponsoring a show with 1Vibe Entertainment and Optimus was on the dj list for that night. A speaker went down and I was asked to go inside to help fix the problem. Optimus was on stage trying to get his set ready to go so I decided to grab a seat and listen. I was blown away by what I heard. Optimus had by far the best set of the night. His set was flawless and his mashups flowed perfectly. He had improved to the point of being on par with any top 100 dj in the world. I would recommend Optimus Grime to any promoter in the world. His style of music and his skills on the decks are perfect for any show. I would personally like to see him progress to the point of international dj.
