About Rachel Solomon
Rachel Solomon is a kaleidoscope of music persona - she’s a pianist, singer, songwriter, and recording artist. She’s also a piano bar entertainer… and part of a viral video sensation.
Penned “the female Billy Joel” by her songwriting teacher at Berklee College of Music, Rachel made her debut as a solo artist with the critically acclaimed album “Love Ourselves” and later followed up with the EP "Right On Time” (re-released with bonus tracks as “Right On Time DELUXE”). The song “Baltimore” from “Right On Time” was recognized as a Top 5 Winner in the Folk/Americana category of the 17th Annual Great American Song Contest. With newer single releases like “When You Held My Hand” and “She’s So Lonely” (a much older song of Rachel’s that she re-discovered and refined during the 2020 pandemic), Rachel continues to carve out a unique identity as a modern-day singer-songwriter.
Rachel has played side (wo)man to notable country artists such as Laura Bell Bundy, Love and Theft, Krystal Keith (on her father Toby Keith's "Shut Up And Hold On" tour), and Heidi Newfield of country group Trick Pony. But living in Nashville hasn't limited her to lending herself only to country music - she has also performed with genre-bending artists such as “Gen Z’s Elton John” Jake Wesley Rogers, Grammy nominated songwriter and recording artist and Ruby Amanfu, #1 CCM artist Jenn Bostic, and The Nashville Yacht Club Band.
Rachel has appeared on "The Today Show", and "Peter and Gladys" - a song she co-wrote with folk artist (and fellow Berklee College of Music alum) Kyle James Hauser - was featured on MTV's "16 & Pregnant”. Rachel was also recently featured in People Magazine in the "Girls of Nashville" portrait gallery.
In 2021, an Instagram reel Rachel created in which she sang harmonies with the emerging viral music video "Alug Alug Cat" was serendipitously discovered by the artist responsible for "Alug Alug Cat", South African electronic musician The Kiffness. He invited her to be a part of what became the “Alug Alug Cat - International Symphonic Mashup” music video. On YouTube the video has accrued nearly 6 million views.
Rachel tours as herself and with others, and you just might find her playing at a piano bar near you.
