CREEK ROAD ELEVEN | Rock - Finland (Helsinki)
CREEK ROAD ELEVEN is Southern-spiced Country Rock band. The band has played shows since 2015 and have now on March 14th, 2025 released their third album SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY. The album contains eleven new original songs of powerful, melodic and catchy "southern-spiced country rock", and one cover song.
BIO
In 2013 Toni Ruuska realized he had written so many new songs it was time to start a new band. After a fairly long period of vigorous search and many auditions Toni found a musician who shared the same vision, an old school guitarist Jyrki Levä from Helsinki. Jyrki brought to the band not just his guitar and harmony vocal skills, but also some of his original songs which fitted in well with the band's musical style.
The band was then completed with a powerful rhythm section when Jani Miinala, a hard hitting drummer and Pete Christiansson, a bass player with killer groove and tasty bass lines joined the band. In autumn 2015 the lineup was further strengthened when Petri Frestadius joined, bringing in his diverse keyboard skills and sounds so essential to this music genre.
Despite their location in northern Europe the band's musical influences come mostly from the southern swamps, endless highways and cotton fields of America, but also from 1960s and 1970s classic British rock. At shows the focus is playing original songs, but the band may play also some well-chosen covers if those fit the mood and the audience.
The band's previous albums, the debut album THE LONG HARVEST released in 2017 and CREEK RUNNING AGAIN in 2020 have been very well received with many great reviews in Finland and abroad. Songs from both albums have gotten air time on radio stations in Finland and abroad in USA, Canada, Australia, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and United Kingdom. The song "Bad Monday" from the debut album was featured on "Best just now" playlist published by Soundi, a national Finnish music magazine. In the 2017 music critic poll of Blues News magazine THE LONG HARVEST reached the top 3 in the new album category.
The band has played shows with great success at festivals and clubs (to name a few- main concert of Puistoblues festival in 2024, Haltiala Hayride, Roots 'n Boots, Saarifest, Super Rally, Semifinal, Raikku Rokkaa).
CREEK ROAD ELEVEN was also featured in 2018 in Vintage Valtakunta, a television series broadcasted nationally in Finland on YLE's Channel 1.
