About Creek Road Eleven
CREEK ROAD ELEVEN | Rock - Finland (Helsinki)
In 2013 Toni Ruuska discovered that he had so many new original songs that it was time to put a new band together. After a relatively long period of vigorous search and test plays Toni found a guitarist with similar vision. An old school guitarist from Helsinki Jyrki Levä. Jyrki brought to the band not only guitar playing and harmony vocals but also some original songs of his own. The band found its form when Jani Miinala, a hard hitting drummer with a steady beat and Pete Christiansson, bass player with killer groove and genius bass lines joined the group. Creek Road Eleven was born. In the autumn of 2015 our lineup was strengthened when Petri Frestadius joined the band, bringing along his diverse keyboard playing skills so essential to this style of music.
The band released its' debut album The Long Harvest in 2017,
the album contains 10 original songs. The album was produced with time and meticulous attention to detail and contains a hearty dose of melodic and catchy country rock spiced with Southern flavours – as the band describes its’ style, “Southern-spiced country rock”. The album has been very well received and has gathered many positive reviews in Finland and other countries.
The album has gotten airplay on radio stations in Finland, USA, Spain and UK. "Bad Monday" was featured
on the monthly national music magazine Soundi's Best Current Songs list in summer 2017. In Blues News
magazine's annual critics poll the album made it to the top three of Finnish new releases and a 3-page Creek
Road Eleven interview with a band picture on the front cover was published in Blues News issue 3/2018.
Gigs have been a success both at clubs and festivals - including Puistoblues, Haltiala Hayride, Saarifest,
Roots 'n Boots, Semifinal, Golden Classics etc. The band mainly plays original material, but depending on
mood and occasion spices its' concerts with carefully chosen cover songs. Creek Road Eleven was also
featured on Vintage Valtakunta, a 10-episode TV serial shown on Yle TV 1, a national TV channel of
Yleisradio (Finnish Broadcasting Company).
"It's not often that you hear of authentic country rock stemming from the suburbs of Helsinki in Finland, but
that is exactly what is happening when it comes to new outfit Creek Road Eleven."
- Nathan Olsen-Haines, Famous Last Words (FLW)
http://www.famouslastwordsrecords.com/interviews/the-long-harvest
"The album is very balanced as a whole and built of many fine songs. It could be described as a strong set of
ten songs that carries the listener along from start to finish. There isn't a single bad song or even a mediocre
one on it."
-Riku Metelinen, Blues News Magazine 5/2017
