The Southern River Band

As a patron who has seen The Southern River Band many times in the past there was the usual anticipation that always exhumes from the crowd, especially as Perth locals The Floors (charged with the massive responsibility of warning up the crowd before the Thornlie bred powerhouse that is SRB) took to the stage. Charging through their catalogue of dirty fuzz punk classics definitely left the audience thirsty for more. Enter the main attraction. Launching straight into usual show stopper Chimney Cal Kramer and Co. had both the young and the old eating out the palm of his hand from the first chords to the final buzz of the amps. Treating all to his usual on-stage banter between songs (mostly about his satire disdain of Bassendean). Ending the evening with an encore performance of Let It Ride after a dynamite setlist. In this patrons opinion all in attendance were definitely left feeling busted up.

Second time I’ve seen them and it won’t be the last Great night out

These legends would have to be the most fun and fun exciting band in Aussie eight now. Do your self a favour and get on The Southern River band !

Couldn’t ask for a better gig. Sunday afternoon. Sounded great.

I have been seeing live music since the late 70s. This band are one of the most dynamic live acts around today. The front man, Callum Kramer, is a cross between Bon Scott, Freddie Mercury and Angus Young. It is a joy to watch how much these guys enjoy performing. Musically, their live performances far outweigh their recorded material. The driving guitar and hard, fast drums backing Kramer's strong lyrical prowess make for a memorable show every time I see them. These guys never fail to impress.
