A: "Winona" refers to the actress Winona Ryder who was popular in the late 80s and throughout the 90s. Her most prominent roles (to the band at least) are as Lydia in "Beetlejuice", Veronica in "Heathers", Kim in "Edward Scissorhands", and Susanna in "Girl, Interrupted".
Q: Where is Winona?
A: At the time of the band's creation, we were also asking that question (hence the name of the band). However, she has since re-emerged in Stranger Things. Shoplifting is also an acceptable answer.
