About Gabriel Iwasaki Compositor
Compositor profesional desde los 19 años, Gabriel Iwasaki se formó como pianista clásico desde pequeño, tomando su pasión como carrera al obtener los títulos de bachiller y licenciado en Composición Musical por Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Ha sido ganador en primer lugar del concurso internacional de piano “Pianoteq Video Contest” en 2014, y ha sido finalista en las ediciones del mismo concurso en 2015 y 2016. Es el primer peruano en llegar a la final del concurso international de composición “International Antonin Dvorak Composition Competition” en 2018, realizada en la ciudad de Praga, República Checa.
En 2015 lanza su primer disco solista titulado “The Journey of Life”, donde combina sus raíces musicales clásicas con su profundo amor por el género progresivo. En 2016 se vuelve miembro oficial como tecladista de la banda peruana Flor de Loto, la cual es reconocida como “Marca Perú” por PromPerú, siendo “Árbol de la Vida” el primer disco en el que participa con la mencionada agrupación. A inicios del 2017, este álbum gana el premio al “Mejor disco de metal 2016” por el Premio Luces, organizado por el grupo editorial El Comercio.
En 2018 lanza su segundo disco solista llamado “The Journey Continues”, su proyecto musical mas ambicioso hasta la fecha, donde refina su propuesta musical hacia nuevos horizontes. El mismo año, Flor de Loto lanza “Eclipse”, disco producido por Roy Z, aclamado productor de talla internacional (Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, Helloween, etc.).
Iwasaki ha trabajado componiendo música para diversas obras de teatro, spots televisivos, tiendas de Retail, e incluso para aplicaciones móviles., siendo el compositor exclusivo de “Universo Génesis”, el primer comic book digital App del Perú, desarrollado por la empresa 7 Cats Art Studio.
Actualmente se desempeña como compositor, pianista, arreglista y productor independiente, dedicándose principalmente a la composición para multimedia y publicidad. Se encuentra también trabajando en su tercer disco solista, el cual espera poder sacar en el futuro cercano.
