About Larceny Metal

The metal band Larceny from Southern Germany was formed in late 2004. In the past 8 years the band has succeeded in creating a demo tape, a basement production and finally they produced a professionally performed LP. As for so many bands, life hasn’t been easy for Larceny and they have suffered a few setbacks along the way. They’ve endured several changes of drummer and were without a lead vocalist for a whole year. As a result they had to turn down a couple of attractive offers. Worse, they were forced to reject the chance to support to the US band “House of Lords”. Those disappointments could have been terminal causing only frustration along with a lack of fun and commitment. However, they overcame those issues; it tied the band together more strongly than ever before. Moreover two key additions contributed to revitalize the band: Anna Rantou joined as a singer in 2009 and Dennis Siebert in 2010 as drummer. Retrospectively, over the past couple of years Larceny has become more than just a collection of keen musicians. “We are seeing an influence from all sorts of styles of metal music (and occasionally even beyond metal) which at times makes things complicated. Yet there is a special type of harmony between us. We would never stop rehearsals before we are sure that we feel really good about our songs”. [Quote] With that in mind, it is hardly surprising that Larceny prefers to take its time before planning an official debut. Therefore it wasn’t until the autumn of 2012 that a recording session produced by Achim Lindermair was organised in the R.E.D studios. From a style point of view it is misleading to simply compare Larceny with established genres. What you will find in Larceny’s music is a mix of styles such as Thrash, Black, Death, Core and Melodic Death. The album “My Fall” was released on the 5th april 2013. Melodic Death Metal with Thrash and Black influences
