About Le'Andra D. McPhatter

Le’Andra D. McPhatter is a soulful, versatile artist with a ‘God-breathed gift’ to take listeners on a journey with her warm demeanor, mixed with the transparent, heartfelt approaches to her craft. Her talents began at the age of three, where she began to play in her hometown churches as the Sunday pianist. After independent study up to the collegiate level, she studied (and continues to study) techniques involving re-harmonization and melodic manipulation.

Le’Andra’s skill sets and experience make her an asset to the industry of music. From teaching private lessons or traveling to perform at a venue, to ministering through music in her local church and lending a hand to write and arrange different genres of music, there are many ways to watch her flowing in creativity. A more detailed list of her skills include reading, songwriting/arranging, dictation/transcription, ear training, teaching/instruction, production, digital film scoring and performance.

Le’Andra’s talents have allowed her to travel many places across the eastern seaboard which include Massachusetts, New York, DMV, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida to name a few. Her connections to these locations afforded her the opportunity to play alongside artists such as: Branford Marsalis, John Fedchock, Kierra Sheard, and Shana Tucker.

Most recently, Le’Andra has worked with Mr. Marsalis on the film score of the movie The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (2017) regularly airing on HBO as a featured movie.

At this present time, Le’Andra resides in Durham, NC. She spends majority of her time teaching piano and voice to people of all skill levels, as well as writing and arranging music for jazz trios, gospel artists, and concert and jazz bands. She is also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree Music with a focus in Jazz Studies at the illustrious North Carolina Central University. She is due to graduate in December 2017.
