The Marshall Tucker Band

Starting with Jefferson Starship; powerful, dynamic and loud in a good way. The founding member being present was nostalgic but I believe his time has come to take a different roll with the vans or just retire. He seemed a half step behind while singing harmony but his commitment was stellar. Marshall Tucker band always brings it the flute and saxophone player was killing it again, Chris Hicks will soon be the face of the bandpass his lead playing is flawless. Sadly Doug Gray has seen his time pass and is also time for him to retire. He slows down all songs he sings with a vibrato which on its own would be OK but when songs from then70's have been sung a certain way for decades leave them be. I honestly loved the show and would go seenthem again, both or separately.

great show, still amazing to see Doug Grey at 75 still on the road and playing music! Outlaws also were outstanding. Overheard a few younger folks complaining ther was too much story telling and not enough playing, shoulda been there 40yrs ago! great to hear band stories mixed in with jams, feels a little more personal, just my opinion. keep it going boys, God bless!

I've met Doug Gray back in 1976 when Marshall Tucker Band was at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. I was thrilled to have a very nice gentleman at Preservatiin Hall find me last min seats very close to the front of the stage. Marshall Tucker Band is still so awesome! Want to show my sincere condolences to Doug Gray for the loss of his wife. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert

They did not give me the "fair" time of their evening. I gave them two AMISH breads and off they went into their RED RV and into the parking garage. Doug Gray (last original member of MTB) has a "girlfriend" who is orig. from NJ. Both the OUTLAWS (FANTASTIC guitar players). I do NOT remember ever seeing them before. And, MTB were excellent motivators for the elderly drunks that were there. It was a short drive,29 miles from Bucks! AMEN. Sunday, MTB and OUTLAWS are at the Keswick. ENJOY if you go.

The Marshall Tucker Band played to a sold out show and were totally awesome! The venue, to my understanding, was fairly new and the sound system was incredible! The band had a smooth even tone. No one member was overpowering the other. Guess that also has to do with Marshall Tucker's sound engineer, Keith Glen! Keith is one of the best in the business with his great ear! Doug Gray, the only remaining original member and founding member of the band, told stories of days gone by and attached memories and dates to each song. Chris Hicks, powerful vocals and lead guitar player, sand a few original songs of his own and grabbed the crowds' attention. with his talent. Marcus, powerhouse talent, sax, flute, keyboard and lead vocals had the crowd in total amazement with his solo's. Rick, guitar player, lead and vocals, let his light shine many times and won the crowd with Blue Ridge Mountain Sky! BB and Ryan, held the bottom down for the band. You could feel the bass and timing thumping in your chest! All in all, an awesome venue and a great band!

MTB are "personal" friends of mine. Over the past 30 years I have seen MTB countless times. I had the pleasure of running into Doug Gray - lead singer of Marshall Tucker Band. He was coming out of the venue and we ran into each other. I had a photo taken with Doug. Unfortunately, the band did NOT perform an encore. Fond memories of a good show! Terri Stirling. Great musicians, wonderful concert! Doug Gray, lead singer and band creator gets highly marks for still touring at 75. He also recognizes that his voice is not what it once was and he graciously acquiesces the lead to his other capable band mates. Fun concert, brought back great memories. Highly recommend you see Marshal Tucker Band while you can!

I was glad to get to see this iconic act, even though the lead singer is the only remaining original member. I was somewhat disappointed in the performance, although the flute player (who also played keyboards and saxophone) absolutely crushed it. The lead singer yammered too much between songs, sometimes incoherently. The band played for only about 70 minutes and performed just seven songs; kind of disappointed since they were the headliner. I expected a set along the lines of a greatest hits album. The concluded their set with "Can't You See" and just walked off the stage; no "thank you", no "good night", nothing. A very abrupt and unsatisfying ending.

Holy crap! This band was on fire last night! So many great songs, amazing musicians, Chris, Marcus and Rick bringing me right back to the 70's with their powerhouse voices! They're talent is obviously not the same as the original band, however the members are equally as gifted and passionate about the music that they share with all their fans. There was no way I could not be up on my feet and dance all night long! I can't wait to see them again!

A decent show that lasted about 1 hour 40 minutes with no intermission. Doug Gray, the only remaining founding member and lead vocalist, said that he was getting over a cold so he was not in the best voice. That may have been true, but at 74 I think it's time for him to sit back and let someone else take over the vocals. Marcus James Henderson on flute, sax, keys and background vocals was clearly the star of the show for me. He sang lead on Take the Highway and did a terrific job. Chris Hicks was in fine form on guitar and vocals. There was a guitarist whose name I didn't get playing a Gibson SG on the stage next to Rick Willis who was perhaps the best guitarist in the bunch. The biggest disappointment was that the band didn't play the two songs I wanted most: "Ramblin'" and "Bob Away My Blues."

I've been an MT fan since high school ('76 to '80). I'm now 60. These guys put on a good show, although, as they explained to us, two of the key vocalists had colds, and their voices were impacted. That was too bad for the audience on the day of our concert. I would guess that had their voices been fully ready to go, I would have given five stars. I had a tear in my eye, anyway, on more than one riff. It had been years and, no matter what I've written here, I'm glad I went.

Every bit as good as the last time I saw them. I personally enjoy listening to Doug's story's & am amazed at the level of talent throughout the band. Each artist brings his own professionalism to the stage & knocks every wonderful old school & new song out the park. Others can disagree with me, but I've never been disappointed with this band.

The last remaining original member of The Marshall Tucker Band, Doug Gray, should turn over all lead vocal duties to other band members because quite frankly he no longer has the range &/or ability to sing with any clarity, making it almost impossible to understand the vocals of any song he sang. Doug Gray obviously lends a lot to the band, i.e., a direct connection to the original band, nostalgia, a seasoned spokesman for the band & a keen ability to connect to various audiences while on tour. And as talented as each of the other band members are, the lengthy solo performances throughout the concert were just that, too long.

The only original member of the MTB is the lead singer and honestly he doesn’t have much voice left. He barely sang 3 songs. The other members are very talented musicians and did some great solo riffs, but I didn’t leave feeling like I had seen the Marshall Tucker Band. Sorry to be negative. I do love their music, but seeing them live isn’t worth it.

They played a lot of songs I never hear before then finished with their best! Musicians were fantastic! Marcus (keyboard/saxophone/flute and vocals) was amazing! Barry (drummer) was so entertaining, he had a great solo! Chris (guitar/vocals) was fantastic as was Rick (guitar/vocals). The bass player reminded me of Marcus Miller’s style; I loved his solo but it was too short! I wish they would have introduced the band members better, could barely hear their names. Doug Gray was awesome although it was clear he was straining his voice.

Great band with good performances of their great catalog. One problem - original singer Doug Grey needs to hang it up. His voice is toast and it ruins the songs that we came to hear. Maybe he can manage the band now, but his live performance days are through !!! Marcus and Chris Hicks can lead the MTB going forward.

I have seen them many times over a 50 year time period. Doug Gray is the only remaining original member of the MTB. His voice has been failing for many years and last night it was almost painful to hear him try to sing. The rest of the band also seemed out of it and not perform to the best of their ability.

Hey Chris Hicks, how were the paydays and REESE cups? Did the guys enjoy? I sure would like to see you all again soon. I had driven up to Quakertown a few months ago, to see your gig. However, upon arrival they said it was 45.00 + 5.00 to get into the gate. I said, I see these guys over 30 times at Pt. Pleasant, AC, W. Windsor, NJ (recently), the state of NJ horse farm (approx 6 years ago) and I am not paying 45.00 to pay for their great-great grand children (especially Doug's) haHa! Anyway, I wanted to try and get nice, close tics like I had received on July 2nd at W. Windsor, NJ. The Kentucky Head Hunters (were absolutely a musical arrangement I will always remember) That was my very 1st time. I love music from Country to Jazz - but NO CLASSICAL (Bach & Behtoven). You had said to me some time ago, "just show up at the backdoor and you would let me in" However, I do not want to get shot by any ROADIES FROM THE SOUTH!!! I am a single lady ENJOYING life's PLEASURES. Marshall Tucker happens to be 1 of my FAVES - OF COURSE,LYNYRD SKYNRD comes in there with you all! Y'all! Terri Stirling, Morrisille, PA. Greta was AMAZED at how your RV driver parked the RV in the alley ALONGSIDE of HAVANA (ESTABLISHMENT) WHERE YOU ALL PLAYED THAT EVENING! She said, "FUCK TERRI (IN HER Scottish brogue, how in the FUCK did that guy park that long ass RV in that tight alley". Unfortunately, she passed away on Easter Sunday from alcoholism/cigarettes (a blocked groin). GOD BLEES HER SOUL! She was my mother's brilliant tailor and became "a sister to me". 50 years we knew each other. Love you all! I surely missed Malcom! Please tell him for me. Beautiful night for the show and a good crowd seemed to enjoy themselves. Doug Gray the lead singers voice was not what it was but heck he is 74 years old. The band was very good and seemed to enjoy themselves. I grew up a big MTB fan and enjoyed the show 50 years of great music the Tucker boys are cookin down in caroline. Good to see a legendary before they are done.

It was quite possibly the best show I have ever seen! They sounded great and really engaged the crowd! They even dedicated a song for my husband and I for our 30th anniversary and then posed for pics with us after the show! I highly recommend everyone go see one of their shows, I know I will be at the next one!
