Namaka

Electro-pop outfit Namaka seeks for the constant interaction between analogical and digital; organic and mechanical. Philipp Schlotter and Fred Bürki create a body of sound in between sparseness and density, - a wide electronic wall, on which singer Sophie Adam’s voice hypnotically draws a golden line.

Their first EP « Apron Ties » already sounded surprisingly grown-up and well-balanced. Celebrating rough electronic beats and a fascination for fluid soundscapes, single « Cellophane » was featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday, on several radios in Switzerland and on blogs like Electronic North (UK) and Mainstage.

The band has now been working on a new EP « Water on The Sun », to be released on Mouthwatering Records in May 2020. Inspired by the sun of a recording session in Italy, Namaka follows the shades of a rainbow in the streets of Berlin. Open-minded and a little childish, this new EP celebrates driving beats and feminine honesty.
