COHLAJ are a Sydney based indietronica band that have been getting weird together since early 2015. The eclectic threesome combines sampled and live music to create a delicious blend of electro-pop and theatrical grunge. Consisting of The Meat (Alicia-vocals) and The Knife (Jesse-guitar) COHLAJ do as their name suggests chopping, slicing and rearranging fragments of sounds to serve up a dish that will sate you appetite for catchy hooks, filthy dubstep synths, funky guitar, 80’s club beats and smooth sparkling vocals. Their vast range of influences span time and genre including Deadmau5, No Doubt, Sbtrkt, Bjork, Blondie and Betty Davis. From their bangers to their ballads their sound is wild yet seductive, glamorous yet trashy, sometimes poignant sometimes silly making you want to grind, twerk, twirl, sway and sing a long. Glitchy.
