About Aaagh! Cobras!

Abigail Adams, the second First Lady of the United States once said: “Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardour and attended to with diligence.” Adelaide's AAAGH! COBRAS! is the result of similar comprehension, driven by their passion and determination. Formerly known as The Seduction Code, a Post Hardcore sextet who enjoyed some success locally as well as supporting some of the strongest bands in various genres, including: Wish For Wings (Qld), The Amity Affliction (Qld), Superman Is Dead (Ind), Fifty Sixx (NSW), The Open Season (SA) amongst many more. A time for change came when the band lost two key members, but instead of taking the easy option out, the outfit pushed forward adopting a newer and more focused pathway. Finding a new guitarist in Sean 'Stobes' McGinlay and drummer in child prodigy Fionn Tschanz-Bartleet, the newly formed six-piece pursued a new endeavour, experimenting with an array of formulas, whist not losing their original inspired hardcore sound. Within weeks AAAGH! COBRAS! were armed with a new set list and ready to attack the stage and studio. The new four track demo which has received regular airplay on Triple J's SHORT FAST LOUD evokes a newer sound for the revamped band. Whether it's the Post-Metal inspired opener in Writer's Block (I've Got Nothing), the harmonic yet vicious Tsunami! Tsunami! or the climactic sing-along hardcore closer in Zach Braff Babysitters Club (Featured on the Pee Magazine Sampler Issue #46), the recipe gives justice to the drive which this sextet has to continue pushing forward and venture into newer territories. With already a handful of successful shows under their belt and a their first release in works, AAAGH! COBRAS! are in a perpetual state on motion and do not have plans to stop anytime soon.
