Ryan Mars Band

Ryan Mars is composed of Shea Marstaller, James Dunkin, Travis Brawley, and Joel Fletcher. Shea began writting songs with his college friend Edward Braliff at Texas State, and the two quickly began collaborating on many of the songs Ryan Mars still plays. Shea began behind the scenes managing local acts like the Cody Bryan Band, until the urge to play landed him behind a drum kit. He eventually left the shadows of percussion to become the front man for Ryan Mars. His powerful, unique vocals, and heartfelt, sincere songwriting are the basis of the project. James Dunkiun was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Coming from a musical family, he had access to, support learning, and an ingrained desire to learn as many instruments as he could. He started playing bass guitar at 10, drums at 14, and guitar at 16, winning his High School talent show on guitar his senior year. But his love of bass guitar was reinforced by bands like Weather Report, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and he began playing with the cover band Special Blend his freshman year at Texas State. He later hit the road with The Kings of the Motel Six, and added a distinctly country feel to his already impressive bass repertoire. Joel Fletcher started his musical career playing bass at 15, but he soon found an affinity for the drums. He was drawn towards the speed and technicality of modern metal drummers. His path to the country scene came when he was asked to audition for the band Barnhill. That led to close to 5 years on the road touring with both Barnhill, and Ryan Bales. His rock background brings a harder edge to the country sound. Travis Brawley has a music degree, and is a full time engineer in a local Austin studio. He is a guitar virtuoso. With influences from Motown, to Deep South Blues, he seems to know exactly what every song needs. His soulful solos, and tasteful melodies add a dynamic counterpoint to the country sounds of the music. He's played music from Alabama to New York City, and back down to Texas. A southern rock country band based out of Austin Texas. Comprised of 4 main members with a wide selection of rotating secondary members. Playing mostly original music mixed with a few covers here and there.
