About Converter Thief

Converter Thief formed in Cleveland, Ohio April 2014 with Rob Young on Drums and Greg Melnyk on Guitars. A few ideas for a name were kicked around we settled on the name Converter Thief after drummer Rob Young received an email at work about thieves stealing employee’s converters. Also Copper Thief was already taken. With a name nailed down they got to work on writing in that time Vocalist Luke Wallace joined up. Not long after David Guativa showed up with a bass and a passion for the music. With a solid line up and a bunch of songs written the band set out to record their debut Ep titled “Salvage” in April of 2015. After recording the EP the band acquired shredder Johnny Hogarth. Shortly after Greg decided to step down from the band. Converter Thief’s music can be described as brutal angry vocals accompanied by “big dumb riffs” with a wall of sound from the rhythm section. Modern Metalcore
