2016. The age of selfie sticks, Donald Trump and the hipster mustache. #Lame. But things weren’t always this dismal. For example, in 1948 we sent a monkey into outer space. He died. But it was still pretty cool, and at least it was for a greater purpose. Yet here we are in 2016, twiddling our thumbs and watching cat videos on YouTube. Bored… (Quiet on set. Lights. Roll Camera. Action. Enter The Dirt Radicals.) That is, until now. Having been around the block, and witnessed the ebb and flow of the ever-fickle music industry over the last few years; Australian born Singer/Songwriter and Bassist Samuel Cooper decided it was time to once again send a monkey into space. In a time where ‘punk rock’ was about as cool as wearing socks with lime green crocs, the 31 year old recruited fellow social rejects; Alessandro Mari (Guitars/Vocals), Sean Buttigieg (Guitars) and Niko Ugolini (Drums) to do the impossible. Nope, we’re not talking about strapping a chimp to a bottle rocket anymore… We’re talking about a punk rock revival. Frontman, Sam Cooper has spent the last 10 years touring the world, playing alongside greats such as Blondie, Sum 41, Simple Plan and Avril Lavigne (to name a few), and rocking festival stages everywhere from Japan to Italy. Previous musical endeavors earned him a #1 radio single in Singapore as well as an MTV Asia Award nomination. Fast forward to 2016, and The Dirt Radicals are recharged and hungry to do it all over, and then some. Just months after the release of the new 7 track powerhouse EP ‘Duder.’, the band is back on the road, spreading the good word of punk, winning over crowds, one fan at a time. The Dirt Radicals will spend the rest of 2016 on tour, so strap yourself in and let the awesome-foursome take you out of this world.
