Ghodsonic is a hard rock/alternative metal band from the great state of Texas. A rare story of true brotherhood, the band has roots going back to the 1990’s when high school friends Steve Sonic and Joshua Memolo connected to form the nucleus of what was to become a band called Strange Love. Through a few lineup changes and shifts in musical direction over the years, Ghodsonic was born and along with it a brand of music that is unrelenting and timeless. If there is a central theme to the music of Ghodsonic it is to be true to yourself. Drummer, Joshua Memolo, is an internationally known recording artist having drummed for the Union Underground in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. The definition of a pro, Josh is simply one of the best drummers around and pours 100% into everything he does. Guitarist, Steve Sonic’s timing, rhythm and solos are truly amazing and he always delivers live, every single time. Although everyone in the band adds a critical ingredient to the chemistry of Ghodsonic, Steve is the heart and soul, the anchor. Vocalist, Rob Hicks joined the band in 1990, delivering powerful and emotional lyrics about overcoming the darkness of the human soul and making the most out of life. Rob’s intense delivery and willingness to be vulnerable bring honesty to the music that cannot be overlooked. Bass guitarist, Anthony Aleman came into the fold a few years later and his stage presence always makes for an intense live experience for those fortunate enough to see them play. But behind the energy is a thoughtful musician and the key force of bringing Ghodsonic back to life! Guitarist, Rex "Squirrel" Gordon came on board shortly thereafter, and provided the signature sound that makes Ghodsonic a musical force. His soundscapes and tones are not only thick as lead, but also will make you wonder how sounds like that can come from a guitar! Although separated musically for a few years growing up, raising children, and pursuing other ambitions, the men of Ghodsonic have always maintained their brotherhood. They’ve seen it all together: from the birth of their kids to the death of loved ones. They've now reactivated to bring the sound and the fury that only Ghodsonic can deliver to Texas and beyond.
