Hostile Work Environment

In response to a work-related charity event, Hostile Work Environment was formed in 2013. At this time, all six of the original members worked together and the name was somewhat tongue-in-cheek to reflect the fun they were having, while also performing for work-related functions. Over the years, they continued to perform bigger and bigger events and in 2015, Matthew Dodd was added to take up lead vocals. As a friend of the band and an accomplished singer already, he was also the first member to not work for the same company as the others. Also, in 2015, original member Bill Burtch retired. In early 2017, original member Bryan Jordan announced that he would be moving to California. Luckily, another friend of the band was willing to step in and Brian Monahan joined. Thus, Hostile Work Environment is currently made up of Matthew Dodd (lead vocals and worldly experience), Brian Monahan (lead guitarist and fisher extraordinaire), Jim Gregory (rhythm guitarist and the world's most non-IT, IT guy), Dave Magan (bassist and world traveler), Kevin Grether (keys and jocoseness) and John Horsley (drummer and tiki man of mystery). HWE is a Columbus, Ohio-based band playing pop, rock and alternative covers primarily from the 80's, and 90's. The band's diverse backgrounds come together to create a night of fun and excitement, with something for all to move to and enjoy.
