About Cazimi
From Sunderland and Newcastle, Cazimi are a trio of post-punk misfits that play in-between music. They have been described as “Not so much the illegitimate sons, but the genetically engineered progeny of luminaries such as Magazine, The Bunnymen, The Stranglers, Hawkwind, Killing Joke, John Barry and Erik Satie”. Bullshit? Maybe. Amongst others Cazimi have been played by Tom Robinson and Nicky Roberts at BBC Newcastle. The band released their debut album 'Late in the Day' in 2020 which is available on CD as well as through AWAL via Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, TIDAL etc. Like many others the pandemic caused a forced hiatus and a restructuring with the addition of Kevin Melling on bass and Gary Binns on drums. In 2022 Cazimi released the EP 'Signals'; the lead song Echo was mastered by the renowned Pete Maher (Pixies, Nick Cave, Jack White) and arranged by Cazimi in collaboration with Steve Wallace of Penetration.
