About Fujawa
Enigma, Misfit, Deviant, Gonzo, Optimistic Rabbit Hole Plunging Polymath and Raconteur are just a few of the names and descriptions given to and provide for Fujawa. A multi-instrumentalist with a focus on Guitar and Bass, spanning all genres, Fujawa has played both instruments for 33-34 years.
The singer, songwriter, and maker of music has been doing such, for 40 years. He first started exploring his parents Steinway at age 6, and in first/second grade joined band and orchestra playing trumpet at his local elementary school, eventually playing through his borough in Pittsburghs, South Hills. 1st chair trumpet and addicted to jazz band, it was no surprise Fujawa took up bass in 7th grade jazz band, and thanks to Jimmy Page, Mark Knopfler, Duane Allman and Frank Zappa an eagerly abrupt yet bittersweet departure soon followed.
Rock and roll a vile temptress who quickly masked all but those who rock, those who roll and those that believe it doesn’t even matter below 11. Thankfully, Fujawa is an amateur ethnomusicologist, as well as a cultural anthropologist, the major that almost usurped music in his collegiate endeavors. When not jumping in and out of various rabbit holes, Fujawa is a husband and father of two daughters and a son in Austin, Texas. He may also moonlight as an audio engineer, preferring the mastering side over the mixing side.
