Hard to give high praise having experienced DeadAhead in MX with a superior group of musicians and Bobby Weir. A good time close to home at a fraction of the cost though there are other Dead cover bands that I think give a much better show & experience…. Absolutely JRAD if only they played more often on the west coast. Surprised at the demand to see DSO live …. Also surprised that San Diego very sold out while Saturday night at LA Wiltern still has seats available tonight. DSO has been playing for many many years & they are constantly touring though I think there are better bands that could headline “Skull & Roses” festival in Ventura, CA this spring? Could be I would have preferred a 70s show vs 1986?

Great show. November 14, 1978. Was the original Grateful Dead show. Surprised at the number of empty seats last night and the number of fans in town for the Dead & Co. that had no idea that the show was even happening. Someone dropped the ball on that.

First things first - the parking lot situation has not improved, but inside security not as big pricks as usual. Show was excellent- got inside early to visit pre-show, good crowd. Saw the Beast,started thinking 80’s show. Jeff comes out and takes stage right - so early 80’s? First show of tour, was hopeful - DSO delivered strong! 5-12-80 Boston - fun choice, love those early Brent shows. Looking forward to Skull&Roses in April!!

DSO is always reliable, and this was such a cool little venue, outdoors with the stage set up right by the Branford River. Staff was friendly and helpful, and refreshments were about half of what they cost at the Live Nation down the road. And they distributed water to everyone as they left.

We showed up late to the first set but stumbled into the most energetic, magical DSO show I've ever been to. I couldn't figure out why until I realized Bob Weir was on stage (and even still doubted myself for a few minutes). The Warfield is such a historic and well-run venue and this is a show I'll remember forever.

Absolutely fantastic DSO show at First Ave Monday, September 30, 2019. The Grateful Dead’s 7-17-76 show was (obviously) terrific and DSO did it justice from beginning to end. Highlights included a terrific 2nd Jam of The Other Ones > Eyes of The World > Other Ones. Encore of U.S. Blues > Not Fade Away. They finished the encore then announced they had more time...so they dedicated “Mission In The Rain” to Robert Hunter then closed with a Smokin’ White Rabbit. Killer show!

Wonderful show. Would like to have seen Hot Tuna play longer. But, with the rain... Dark Star was great. Enjoyed it so much! And what about the rainbows? Was sitting with people from the Bay Area talking about the rainbows at Santa Clara during Fare Thee Well; suddenly we had our own. Gotta love Red Rocks.

But the people I was next not so great I do recall being told to go somewhere else and dance got told by some lady my led gloves we're a distraction led hoops poi balls glow sticks are not I guess and Even got slaped in the chest because I was dancing dso put on great show the people here we're not kind at all sad 😢☹️😔

For my first time seeing this tribute act, it was fantastic! If this band comes near your area, please go see them, they are worth it and I can't wait for them to come back!

Set list was a Nov 73 Tempe show and it was rad! First time seeing them live and it wont be the last. Really great musicians, dressed to the nines with really an amazing sound radiating from the stage. The venue is hit&miss but this band was spot on that Thursday. Thank you

DSO is a fine concert for that Dead experience. The audience responded just like they would at any other Dead scene! The Warfield GA Area was packed and it was difficult to move; might consider reserved seats upstairs next time. The sound in the GA area about 2/3rds back from the stage was fantastic.

The band was an ‘11’, but the GA area of the Warfield was packed to the point where it was difficult to move. Maybe reserved seats is the way to go. Highly recommend DSO for a Dead experience

Half a star less than 5 only because whenever I opened my eyes Jerry, Bobby and boys weren’t actually there! This was my first DSO show and I had my premature doubts. I mean it’s basically a Dead cover band right? Not so as I was proven wrong. These guys are masters. To be able to play and capture live Grateful Dead as perfect as this band does is both amazing and a masterful accomplishment. The crowd certainly helped the experience as we all simply relived a Garcia-led Dead show because it’s just that close to those wonderful past experiences. The music, collaboration and chemistry was perfect and each musician reminds you of the original cast. Their individual, integral unique contributions reflect the playing mannerisms of the legendary musicians. Last night I spent quite a bit of time closing my eyes and wandering into the past with nothing short of an ear to ear grin. It’s probably unnecessary to say but it will not be my last DSO. Ps. They played the 11/5/1979 Philly Spectrum show (to the tee unless the Bobby flub wasn’t a reacted flub).

It was my first DSO live show. Loved, loved, loved. The acoustics at the venue was top notch which added to the large concert feel for small performance hall, very intimate. Closed my eyes, I swear I was listening to the original Grateful Dead. They played two 1.5 hour sets, which I assumed, with an encore. I'm terrible remembering all the songs titles but it all sounded great, even the drum solo...I'm looking forward to seeing my next live show of DSO.

First set was a bit too high tempo, second set was solid as a rock. Great show over all, lots of new material from an era not frequently covered by DSO. Loved it. Made even better by extra post encore songs and a pitch for Jam in the Sand

Music was decent, typical DSO :) The crowd, however, was the youngest, and smelliest, I've encountered in my 30 yrs of enjoying ALL aspects of The Grateful Dead. You youngin's need to bathe, mmmkay? And if in' ya ain't gonna bathe, well do us all a favor and rub some patchouli oil on yer stinky parts, mmmkay???!!!

This band always delivers and that they mixed it up for the second time in the past week made it even better. Can't say enough about the venue. Beautiful setting in the mountains, great craft beer at a fair price and phenomenal food trucks. Great people. Easy parking. Can't wait until next year.

One of the best concerts you can go to today. The Dark Star Orchestra sounded just like the Grateful Dead! If I closed my eyes, it was as though I was at a dead concert back in the day! They were Dead on. The musicians did a great job capturing the feel of a Dead concert and its feel and were obviously very devoted to continuing the Dead experience and legacy. The fellow concert goers were very nice as they always are and the venue wasn't bad. The sound was great. My only complaint is that the venue was a bit small for the crowd.

Another great evening and a fun show from 1984. The two extra songs tacked on the end of the encore were fantastic (Bertha and Shakedown Street)!! Liking forward to catching some of the summer tour as well!
