About BREACHING VISTA

Direction: the course that must be taken in order to reach a destination. The destination? Unknown.

Hailing from Kitchener, Ontario, alternative rock band Breaching Vista shares an indescribable chemistry that is clearly noticeable to the listener. The band released their debut EP Breaking The View in 2008. The trend continued into 2011’s follow up album, Vera City, a 13-track sophomore release highlighted by its singles “Sleep” and “Nervous” – both spun on Canadian rock radio with the latter cracking the Top 5 on ExploreMusic.com’s “The List.”

Collaborations with an African-Canadian gospel choir, world-renowned Cellist Kevin Fox, and a duet on “Letters” with DIY folk-punk artist Billy The Kid, were just a few of the exciting features that Breaching Vista expanded on their horizons with Vera City. “Letters” pays tribute to the families of loved ones serving in the armed forces, and is often featured on Canadian radio stations for Remembrance Day.

Both albums independently released in a joint effort between the band and JUNO Award-winning Producer/Engineer/Mixer and owner-operator of Beach Road Studios, Siegfreid Meier, who also signed the band to his indie label, Bright Side Records. With a partnership between labels, Engineer Records also released both recordings in the UK and other parts of Europe, helping to expand the reach of the bands music.

Breaching Vista has worked tirelessly to grow their fan base around Ontario, where they’ve found themselves sharing the stage with many notable acts such as Marianas Trench, Theory of a Deadman, Finger Eleven, Kim Mitchell and USS, as well as becoming regulars on the festival circuit having performed at Burlington’s Sound of Music Festival, Canadian Music Fest and the Vans Warped Tour, to name only a few. Through participating in the tv show “Cover Me Canada”, Breaching Vista forged a relationship with CBC, who invited them to perform a private VIP party at the Gemini Awards, and were quoted online saying “These guys are gonna go somewhere!”.

They released FACTOR funded singles “Your Calling” and “When I Come Home” in 2017, the latter being featured on a compilation album in the UK released by Engineer Records.

In 2018 they were hand-selected to perform at the FINAL Vans Warped Tour in Toronto, performed a SOLD-OUT self-produced hometown headlining concert in Kitchener, and developed brand partnerships with Waterloo Brewing and Sofar Sounds Waterloo just to name a few recent achievements. Needless to say, Breaching Vista are back....

With multiple singles planned for release throughout 2019, they’ve returned to the studio with both Siegfried and top DJ/Producer Human Kebab (of dynamic alt-rock band USS) to begin production on new material, as well as their first ever self-produced release with Bassist/Producer/Mixer, Mike Chhangur, at the helm. Songwriter/Frontman, John Maksym, credits their signature guitar driven sound to the work of Lead Guitarist, Al Malnar, who humbly believes Drummer, Michael Sferrazza, was the bands missing piece.

A reignited passion that feels viral among members, standing at the foot of a rebuilt foundation. With a new compass in hand, set the course to forward thinking and movement, for the next chapter of their story has only just begun. Let it be known, the destination is global.
