About Phocus Reggae
Thank you for an exciting 10 years - Phocus is no longer booking shows! Find the band members on Facebook and Instagram to see what current projects they are pursuing :)
Phocus is a high-energy, groove-oriented band, slicing up a diverse blend of reggae, funk, and ska. Trackmaster T and Rasta Ryan formed Phocus in 2009, however their musical relationship runs much deeper, originally meeting in the Fox Valley band Unity in 2005. Instantly Track's fat-thumping bass lines seemed like a natural fit with the funky, popping tones of Ryan's unique, hybrid-style picking. They finally decided to collaborate and form their own group, and Phocus was born.
Since then, Phocus has toured the Midwest and the West Coast, performing at countless venues, outdoor events, and music festivals, as well the Main Stage at Seattle Hempfest. Phocus is currently hard at work on their long-awaited debut album, which will be released in the summer of 2015.
For Trackmaster T and Rasta Ryan, Phocus is a vessel, one that uses music to convey big ideas that couldn't be acheived with just words. Phocus views every show as the transference of emotions into music, and music into energy, which only intensifies as it's passed back and forth between the stage and the audience. Phocus uses that positive energy to lift people up with a high that can only be achieved through music.
A tight rhythm section, trance-inducing improvisational jams, and three part harmonies, produce a BIG sound guaranteed to make you bust a move!
