About The Echoing Green
Founded by Joey Belville and fortified by Chrissy Jeter, electro-pop force The Echoing Green developed a genre-defying live act touring the world with various hardcore, ska, and rock bands - the genres making strange bedfellows at the time. Songwriting duo Belville & Jeter have evolved The Echoing Green into a dynamic and compelling pioneer of the electronic landscape, with an 11-album catalogue blending pop, rock, electro, new wave, post-punk, and synthpop, with singles featured on SyFy and Xbox’s DDR Universe. Rooted in a love for all electronica and shaped by pop sensibility, their music explores literary, philosophical, and spiritual depths through melodic hooks and dance-ready beats.
The band found early inspiration in synth-heavy 80s groups Depeche Mode and New Order establishing their own style by infusing rock and synth elements into charismatic live shows. Their hybrid sound is often compared to indie/synth/new wave acts The Naked & Famous, Actors, Cold Cave, Nine Inch Nails, and CHVRCHES soundtracking life on society’s fringe and drawing a diverse fan base ranging from goths to gospel-lovers, punks to pop enthusiasts.
Released less than a year ago, their new double-vinyl collection Violent Whispers: Songs and Stories from the Echoing Green offers a remastered overview of the unique spectrum of music they’ve created, from the dark, electro-grunge track “Revenge” (imagine NIN covering “Video Killed the Radio Star”) to the sparse, industrial cool of “Matter” to the bright, 80s new wave of “I Forget.”
