Bloodmoon Warning

In early 2015, Southern Oregon drummer Jym Harris got an offer to open for Legendary Bay Area rockers Y&T in the Rogue Valley. He got a call from Greg Tressell, owner of the Rogue Theatre who was adamant about not booking a cover band, so he asked if Jym's band could be the opening act. His former band was in the midst of breaking up, so he decided to honor the request to form a new original Hard Rock act. After weeks of suggestions, a certain moniker stuck. Parts of two ideas together made something completely original, and the band became BLOODMOON WARNING. Jymbo (as he's known by many) first enlisted Eric von Radics to play bass who suggested they find a 'hot shot guitar player', so Michael Ian Brisbane was chosen for lead guitar duties. Michael & Jym had played together over the years, but had never been in the same band. Brisbane's soulful Heavy Blues-meets-Metal technique fit the band's style well, but when asked to sing lead vocals, he decided to recruit his 2nd Amendment bandmate, Shane Thornton; a charismatic frontman with a scratchy yet melodic vocal approach. Familiar with Shane's former band X-Piracy, Jym knew his voice was a great fit for this project, plus Shane was a guitarist too! Bonus! Over a few short months the members wrote original material & decided to throw in a couple of cover tunes for their live set... eventually, after co-writing a few songs, Eric offered to bow out, allowing the guys to find a more musically fitting bassist. Michael & Shane immediately brought in bassist Mike Pugh with whom they had already played. Everyone spoke highly of his prog-inspired four string shredding, so the band now had a complete line-up. After several rehearsals & three successful gigs, Brisbane decided to take some personal time and guitar virtuoso Robert Real (the Master Blaster on the Ibanez Stratocaster) stepped in to take care of lead guitar duties. Combining their love for classic rock & traditional heavy metal the guys have created a sound people have compared to the bands like Y&T, Dokken, Baton Rouge, Jackyl, and Tesla. BloodMoon Warning is currently writing new material for their upcoming full length album slated for early 2106.
