About Saishubi

Toronto band Moonhead has an aim to connect to people on both surface and inner levels through their thoughtful yet fun music. Known for their high-energy live performances, the band is an invigorating experience that only wants to excite people and open their minds. Moonhead is a collection of seven diverse musicians who quickly bonded over their mutual love for R&B, 70s and 80s pop music and hip-hop. The band draws influence from a range of artists from Prince, Michael Jackson and Steely Dan to Anderson Paak., D’Angelo and Frank Ocean. Over the past 2 years of the band's existence, they've played virtually every club in the city and have accomplished much. Moonhead has opened for Motown icons The Commodores, recorded with legendary engineer/producer Al Schmitt, and in October 2016 even appeared as Dr. Frank-N-Furter's band in FOX's remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Moonhead has one album and two music videos out, and is about to begin recording their second album. The band has a lot to say, so keep listening.
