It's the end of summer in 2010 when singer-songwriter Angelica Lubian and double-bassist Simone Masina first meet in Sicily, under the spotlights of a music festival promoted by Italy's national radio RAI. Their paths cross again just four years later, when Angelica plays in Simone's hometown, Bologna, on the stage of the historic Duse Theater.
An upright bass, a voice, a handful of free hours and the will to experiment. This playful impro session gives birth to a video, their cover version of the hit by Lenny Kravitz Always on the Run, performed in an acoustic minimal interpretation. Uploaded on YouTube just for fun, the video immediately gains curious attention and enthusiastic approval on the Web, reaching tens of thousands of views and sharings worldwide in the first few weeks. The cover gets the appreciation of Kravitz as well, who comments their video: “Love it! Thank you for your interpretation. Respect”.
And so the journey of Peekaboom begins, a game poised between tradition and innovation, an explosive combo of voice, double-bass and electronics, strengthened by their live impact and the affinity of their performance, the hallmarks of this unique duo.

È la fine dell'estate 2010 quando una cantautrice friulana, Angelica Lubian, e un contrabbassista emiliano, Simone Masina, si conoscono in Sicilia, sotto ai riflettori di un festival promosso da Radio RAI.
Le loro strade si ritrovano solo quattro anni più tardi, quando Angelica suona nella città di Simone, Bologna, sul palco dello storico Teatro Duse.
Un contrabbasso, una voce, qualche ora buca e la voglia di sperimentare. Da questa sessione di improvvisazione giocosa nasce un primo video, caricato su YouTube quasi per scherzo. È la loro cover del successo di Lenny Kravitz “Always on the run”, rivisitata in chiave acustica minimale, che sin da subito desta l'attenzione e il consenso del web, raggiungendo nelle prime settimane decine di migliaia di visualizzazioni e condivisioni in tutto il mondo. La cover viene apprezzata dallo stesso Kravitz che commenta così il video: “Love it! Thank you for your interpretation. Respect”.
Nasce così il viaggio di Peekaboom, un gioco in bilico fra tradizione e innovazione, una combo esplosiva di voce, contrabbasso ed elettronica, forte dell'affinità performativa e dell'impatto live che contraddistingue il duo di musicisti.
