About Hathor Rising

SHORT BIO:
In December 2014 Katana Haley reached out to the music scene in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX in hopes to creating another Metal band. She found Rickie Matt, Thomas "Taco" Canto, and William Akin, together they founded Hathor Rising.

In May 2015, bass player Tony Clay joined and helped record the single “Fuel Injector”. Later in October 2015, Kelly Berger took the bass position temporarily for Hathor Rising.

In January 2016, Alexander Buxton joined the group after receiving an invitation the year before. Unfortunately, Alex later had to leave in November '16.
In March 2016, after searching for bass players they found James "Dr. Danger" Tilley.

In June 2016, drummer Rickie Matt left the band and in September 2016, drummer Ryan Scott Brown joined Hathor Rising.
Thomas brought most of their songs to the group at the beginning which was quickly absorbed by Katana, Will, and Rickie. Katana, still venturing through a new genre, blasted her amazing, raw, powerful vocals, which quickly amplified the aggressiveness of the songs.

Dr. Jim Danger brought a completely different sound, bringing even MORE energy to the group, and adding his unique style on the bass.

Ryan brings all these sounds to a whole new level, bringing many funk and jazz elements and styles to the group to create a unique sound, complimenting Jim Dangers' funk style, with Tacos' metal style, and Katanas' vocals with flawless succession.

Together they bring a unique take on the Metal that you know and LOVE, revamping it and dishing out many great, original songs! They are currently producing their first CD.

LONG BIO:
In the cold winter of December 2014, Hathor Rising was formed after the almighty Goddess, Katana Haley, ventured through the vast world looking for worthy allies to fulfill her passion for music. After searching far and wide in the brisk, cold, dead lands, she found her first ally. Lead shredder, Thomas ‘Taco’ Canto, who boldly offered her remarkable lyrics, heavy rhythmic riffs, and ear-shattering solos that pleased Katana. The Goddess felt he was the perfect blade to support her mesmerizing screeches and ungodly growls.
Pleased with her addition, she journeyed on to a dark, deathly, rainy land of forests where she heard rumors of a creature so wild, and hell-bent on chaos. Only by the sound of disorder, destruction, and chaos, she found him. Standing victorious over the bloody corpses of his foes, Ryan Brown stood fearless, ready for the challenge the Goddess presented before him. Tensions rose, blood was boiling; adrenaline was pumping when all of the sudden Taco drew his axe, began to shred and to Ryans' surprise, felt compelled to beat his pile of dead foes, in perfect synchronicity. Perplexed by his powerful beating, bone shattering snaps, and skull crushing kicks, the Goddess wailed a screeching, seducing roar to which permanently tamed the creature.
Emerging victorious from the forests, the Goddess, Katana, found herself in the demonic, ghostly, dark depths and voids of the World. After wandering in the dark depths for months with her two allies, they would arrive at the hot, fiery pits of Hell itself. The Goddess screamed aloud, uttering his sacred, evil name. A name so evil, any mortal being would spontaneously combust from every crevice and suffer an extended, painful death upon hearing or speaking his name. With his full attention, the demon himself rose and spawned before the group, curious as to why they still live. The demon introduced himself as Dr. Jim Danger, and was intrigued of what the Goddess and her allies had to offer.
Katana, with a smirk on her face, threw her hands up in the air with great force. Day instantly turned to night, the ground trembled and crumbled beneath their feet, the winds howled and screamed with astounding force. She then took a deep breath, pushed her hands out, and howled with her seductive voice, immediately followed by her allies unleashing their powers. Dr. Danger unleashed an evil grin, for this was an evil he had longed for, the very root of all evil. It was his language, his life, his calling. In response ,the Demon began to unleash deep vibrations, putting the groovy in the groove, the umph in the thump, and the heavy in the metal, giving all the high energy, weight, and power the group needed to accomplish their goals.
Together, they now unleash a force so powerful and seductive, they leave behind a path of death, destruction, and HEAVY METAL. They began their journey in the deep bowls of Texas and are currently following a path of GLOBAL DOMINATION, one worthy soul at a time. Once you are seduced, you will forever be at their disposal, that is, if you survive.
