MUTE SWANS

Mute Swans is a Los Angeles based band that is attempting what many have deemed, “the impossible.” To create a new standard in the Post Rock music world. The band formed in late 2014 after many months of Brett, Tom, and Jon tinkering with a cinematic approach to songs. Taking cues from influences such as Explosions in the Sky, This will Destroy You and Japandroids, a musical tone was quickly becoming apparent. With a smooth dulcet tone needed to stand against these giant sounds, reminiscent of The National, Joy Division, and early REM, Brett creates a melodic narrative to carry you into a world of personal reflections of love, pain, and little adorable red wagons. The timely late 2014 addition of the rhythm section Dustin and Dean gave the low gravitas that the band needed to blast at stadiums and across the world. Is it too early to say this band will change the world? Probably. But that’s with a capital ‘P’.
