A. J. and the Two Tone Blues Band were the winners of the Sonny Boy Blues Society Battle of the Bands Competition on June 18, 2005 in Helena, AR. As a result of this award they performed at the King Biscuit Blues Festival main stage October 6, 2005 and qualified them to compete in the IBC,International Blues Competition, in Memphis in January 2006, placing fourth of 130 bands from around the world.
