About Jeff Snake Greenberg

About Jeff "Snake" Greenberg Jeff "Snake" Greenberg was born in Philadelphia, PA and started playing piano at age 5. At the age of 14 he composed a score for the Yale Drama School, at 15 he made his Carnegie Recital Hall debut and at 16 recorded for the RCA Red Seal label. The New York Times said of him, "(he is) well on his way to being a leader in his field." Jeff attended New York University and Berklee College of Music, where he studied piano and arranging. He continued his studies privately with such teachers as Don Sebesky (arranging), Barry Harris (piano and voice), Lee Konitz (improvisation), Sanford Gold (piano), Don Hannah (arranging) and Ronnie Fabre (voice). Jeff performed in Atlantic City (Caesars, Bally's, Resorts International), and later moved to New York City. In New York, he worked as a studio musician and singer for TV and radio commercials, and became the house arranger for a major jingle company. His work can be heard on commercials for clients such as Ford, Clairol, McDonalds and others. Jeff also worked on cruise ships where he was an entertainer, a singer/pianist and an orchestra musician. He served as musical director for several cruise lines including Holland America, NCL, American Hawaii, and United States Lines. After coming to Las Vegas, Jeff performed in lounges as a pianist and vocalist. He has appeared at Harrah’s, Caesar’s, The MGM Grand, New York, New York, and other well known hotels. From 2002 until 2006, Jeff was the musical director of "The Ratpack is Back" - re-creating the shows of the early 60s by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr and Joey Bishop. He played piano, conducted the orchestra and contributed musical arrangements to the show. He gained a reputation as an authority on the music of this era. In 2006 after a near death experience, Jeff felt the need to explore his musical roots, and moved to New Orleans. He has become an exponent of the piano styles of Professor Longhair, James Booker, Huey "Piano" Smith, Tuts Washington and the accordion style of Clifton Chenier.
