Death Cab for Cutie

Such a great show! My kids were tiny when these albums came out. My boy would sing “bah-bah sounds” when he was barely 2. I never thought I would get to hear Transatlanticism live, let alone Postal Service. Both bands were sooooo good. Never knew Ben could slap the drums like that! The Greek Theater was packed and so happy to hear them play. I could die tonight and live with it. More please!!

Good show by DCfC. Ben noted toward the end that the band wished that the SL municipal rules hadn't prevented them from playing later into the evening ... he joked about "this is where revolutionary mutinies are started" ... I noted that their set list omitted some really good and popular songs like You Are a Tourist and Northern Lights - I wonder if Death Cab normally would perform them with more time available. Appreciated the opportunity to see them with a $20 general admission ticket, but that venue is not nearly large enough to accommodate that type of crowd for that type of national act ... standing room only packed in like sardines; bathroom facilities overwhelmed, nice to have four or five food trucks inside the plaza but could have used ten to twenty of them since the lines were enormous.

Slow start, can't say Slow Pulp did much for me. Also DCFC didn't get going for several songs. Black Sun got things going for me, still seems a pretty optional subject for Ben Gibbard. The highlight for me was a solo acoustic rendering of the emotional "I will Follow you" from Plans... breathtaking. That song alone was worth the ticket price. Finished strongly with plenty more classic tracks. The only flaw, and this is just personal, but Ben's jiggling about on stage out of time with the music detracted at times for me - much more powerful when he stood still and let the music do the job as in his acoustic set .

Death Cab is absolutely gorgeous to listen to, and live they sound even better. Ben’s voice is so smooth and you can tell everything they make fits their own personality perfectly. The new stuff they released absolutely rocks, and together with their old stuff really makes for a discography that will blow any audience away. From tender moments to slamming rock tracks: it was an evening for the books 🙌🏻🎸

Band was great but venue wasn’t the best. Won’t knock the band tho. They also complained about the venue and to be fair it wasn’t built yet when they signed on for this gig so you can’t blain them. They said they would never play there again after this show. Great live show they out in tho!

The band was fantastic!!! Asphalt meadows live really goes to show that Death Can still has it, Mr. Gibbard was hilarious, and the encore was amazing. Kept the energy despite having no opener and playing on a monday The sloppy drunk fans were not fantastic, though. 5 stars for the band... Wish the venue would've handled a few of the more belligerent drunks as they got physically agressive.

Disappointed in the band for starting the concert right at 8pm when there was a line wrapped half way around the block of fans with tickets still waiting to get in. What was the rush??? Afraid it would be past your bed time? Also for a more older adult crowd the disrespect of people just cutting in front of others and stopping and blocking views was extremely annoying, disrespectful and rude. I went to close to 20 concerts this year and this was one of the ones I was really looking forward to and it was disappointing. Even the sound quality was not good. You couldn't hear them when they spoke to the crowd and could barely hear them singing. I had been waiting to see these guys since 2020 when they cancelled on stage at The Innings Festival.

I feel like death cab is a band meant for a smaller venue. Yes they sold a lot of tickets but I feel as if they should’ve gone for the pageant or places like that. It was a good concert, definitely not one of my favorites this year though.

I loved everything! The production was great. Maybe some more base in chorus like “I don’t know how to survive” it hit in some songs, but with more consistency it would’ve hit just a bit intensifying the already smackin beat. Also I loved all the albums so I’m always a little sad we can’t always play old stuff. At the same time I’m sure you’re tired of playing the same songs, I get it. Still, I love your music so much. I’ve been listening for 10+ years since high school and got to see you for 16th birthday and just enjoy anything you come out with.

I really enjoyed the show. It was my first time seeing these guys live. Maybe I liked it so much because it was Red Rocks, maybe it's just because the music was fantastic. The lighting during the show looked great, they sounded phenomenal, it far exceeded any expectations I had going in. I can't wait to see DCfC again.

Great show. The band was tight. They covered a lot of their big songs and the new album. They sounded awesome. Forest Hills Stadium is really cool to see a show at when the weather cooperates. Lots of food and drink options (not cheap but big selection). Small but spacious.

Total crowd pleaser. They played the hits and even got Jenny back on for a postal service song. Never thought I’d have a chance to see that. It was great. The venue probably isn’t great for the band, they probably didn’t feel the love so much but it was there!

I think that Death Cab rushed to get in as many songs as possible, given the time constraints. I have seen them many times, and I think DCFC are at the best, when they are the headliner of their own show. Also, I have been to the Forum numerous times, and I haven’t enjoyed my experiences there. The venue this time was very cold and cavernous. Death Cab put on an amazing show at the Santa Barbara Bowl when I last saw them. Transatlanticism, which is usually close their show, is a great song live.

I’ve seen them live a handful of times. Some of my favorite memories are of the band just rocking out. Back when Chris was still around, I remember him writhing on the floor while playing the We Looked Like Giants solo and it was incredible. But this was one of the best shows I’ve seen them do. And it’s definitely partly because they played the entirety of Transatlanticism (my favorite album), but also because they are damn good live. See them first chance you get if you haven’t yet. And even if you have.

The band was on fire and laid down their songs with the usual energy, passion, and precision. Keller Auditorium, on the other hand, didn’t have a sound system meant to handle a louder rock band. The sound was muddled on most of the louder moments of the evening. Ben’s solo acoustic bit was the clearest sounds of the show. I drove down from Seattle and still think it was worthwhile; however, I wouldn’t likely go again if the show was at Keller.

I've seen DCFC at least a dozen times and they have never been this tight. From start to finish every note was right on. Almost a little too much polish, I have to say. They played a handful of songs from the upcoming album. I liked the last one but the first two were unmemorable. In comparison to the Decemberists show two nights before, Death Cab seem to be moving away from the quirkiness that defined then years ago. The old songs still rock, though.

Legit! One of the best concerts I've been to! The opening act, Bully, was great! I can't wait to hear some more from them in the future. Death Cab For Cutie was too good! It blew my mind how good it was. In fact "good" doesn't do it justice, I have to come up with a better way of describing it... I've taken some time and came up with mega-legit. THEY WERE MEGA-LEGIT!!!!

Death Cab was awesome!!! Metric had amazing stage presence but their new stuff isn't so much my taste. They didn't much of their older stuff. Can't stand that song I WANT IT ALL I WANT IT ALL I WANT IT ALL. Sounds like a broken record. But well done Death Cab! Love those guys!!!

This show was amazing! I attended a show back in 2011 and the music was nearly perfect technique and sound wise buy this year it had a more wild vibe to it and the crowd really got into it. Possibly the best night of my life and I have it all to thank for Ben Gibbard who decided not to "sound like Cookie Monster" five months ago when the show was postponed

This was absolutely brilliant! I recommend arriving several hours early for closer seats, but honestly I don't think the seating matters too much anyway since the amazing part of it is the music itself and the atmosphere. Sitting in the grass with a bunch of rad hipster death cab for cutie fans was awesome! It's especially fun if you have friends with you.
