The Seattle Grunge Experience

Formed in December 2014, The Seattle Grunge Experience is the brainchild of two long-time friends - Dave Horan (Lead Vocals) and Ger Ennis (Guitar & Vocals). As fans of the Seattle Sound and noticing huge potential for the project they decided it was the right time to put a band together. Recruiting the expert skills of Shane Counter (Lead guitar), Mike Galorport (Drums) and Keith Murdoch (Bass & Vocals) the band began regular rehearsals early in 2015 and played their first gig at Fred Zeppelin’s in Cork that May. During the summer of 2015 the band performed to growing audiences in venues across Ireland, culminating in a multi-set appearance at the Rockathon Festival in Meath. This date featured two unplugged sets harking back to the legendary films made by Nirvana and Pearl Jam for MTV. Continuing in to 2016, the band swelled its fan base through consistently top-notch shows at such venues as The Spirit Store (Dundalk), Monroe’s (Galway), and Bogan’s (Omagh). Perhaps the highlight coming in April at Fibber Magee’s (Dublin) where the band opened with a 40-minute unplugged set to mark the anniversaries of the passing of Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley. Then promptly electrifying the sold out venue with a full 2-hour set…Live…Amped…Loud! Once again, the band bookended the summer with another multi-set appearance in front of a thousand rockers at Rockathon. The band grew ever more popular during 2017 with sold out shows at The Kasbah in Limerick, Dublin's Button Factory, on the main stage at Monroe's in Galway and at The Bowery in Rathmines.
