Grand Child

Grand Child is an Austin-based group that we’ve heard musicians reference and critics whisper about for the better half of the last decade. Founded by Andy Lane (From Driver Friendly ), the music was initially spawned as a writing exercise and way to cope with a death in the family. The method was simple-- songs and ideas were recorded over Lane’s late grandfather’s mixtapes—thus creating the name Grand Child. These songs would later be released on their debut LP, “My Legs Are in The Water, My Head Is in The Clouds”.

After this release, the band went on a hiatus and spawned onto other projects. Members Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins created the indie pop band Wild Child, drummer James Williams received 6 Emmy’s in Video Production and Lane built a private practice in psychotherapy.

A decade later, Grand Child is furnished with a new lineup along with a new album released in 2022.
