About The Rayes
Hailing from Seattle, Washington in The States, The Rayes is fronted by sisters, Rebecca Stobbe (guitar/vocals) and Jordan Stobbe (bass guitar/vocals), now based in Melbourne and joined on the stage by Ben Hall (drums/percussion).
The powerhouse sister-duo charge their music with rich vocal harmonies and deft guitar lines reminiscent of late-'60s/early-'70s classic rock and folk. Their deep-rooted love of music from these eras comes from their upbringing and first performances during their teenage years when they used to busk their favorite oldies covers on the streets of Pike Place Market in Seattle.
With intertwining vocals and compelling intonation, their vocal style holds a likeness to Stevie Nicks and Este of the HAIM sisters. The shared genes in the sisters’ voices are unmistakable -- interwoven in a perfect sonic crochet, and striking a chord in your soul that will stick with you long after the last note.
